While I never found this photo to be as funny as everyone else who knew us, it's probably representative of our relationship. I adored him, but he never made anything easy! (I'm sure he would have said the same about me). Loupe was my first dog, and my best friend in the world for many years: he gave me so much, and taught me even more.
Loupe (age 8) on the Franconia ridgeline between Mt Lincoln and Mt Lafayette. At his age, Loupe doesn't carry a pack for any great distance, but carrying this one (which is very very light) makes him feel important and young again.
